Antique Bicycles
May 9, 2009
I’ve been hit with “Bicycle Fever” ever since I returned from the Netherlands. I rencently picked up a 1962 Dunelt English 3-Speed that I’ve been riding all over New York City (Expect a post on this soon!). I found these amazing old photographs below on Ebay. Also, if old bikes interest you please check out The Old Bike Blog, which I have added to my list of conspirators.

I found this great Vintage Ventriloquism group on Flickr. Below are some of my favorites.
My favorite ventriloquist of all time is Jerry Etherson from Episode 98 of “The Twilight Zone” titled “The Dummy” (1962).

Photographs by Weegee

Mr. Weegee himself, here with two fans. Image: International Center of Photography
I love photographs by Weegee. Weegee was a photographer during the 1930’s – 1960’s. Weegee’s work would go on to inspire other photographers such as Diane Arbus. The name Weegee was given to him by a friend and derived from the popular game Ouija!. He was given this name because he would often show up at crime scenes to take photographs before the police would even arrive. Most people are familiar with Mr. Weegee’s crime scene photographs, but my favorites are of other subject matters. Check out some great ones below. I found these on Amber-Online.

Family Portraits of the Past
December 13, 2008
I found these amazing 1950’s family portraits on Google Images and Flickr. I don’t know anything about these families, but I love the family dynamic of the 1950’s and I think it’s incredible that they were able to get all the members of the family together in one place for photographs. I thought these were a lot of fun.
Here’s a picture of my Dad and his sisters with my Grandmother from the late 1950’s:
