Operation Infield – Infiltrate Oriole Park at Camden Yards

September 9, 2009

Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore is my favorite baseball stadium to visit. I love the vintage ballpark styling of the stadium.

Ken Griffey Jr. has been the only player to hit a ball off the warehouse. Here is the plaque which commemorates the spot.

It was vintage uniform day at the park, and the Orioles were wearing the 1949 Negro League Baltimore Elite Giants uniforms. They are awesome!

It is a great stadium (even if that new Hilton is annoying). I can’t wait for my baby to grow up and go there with me.

    • The new Hilton is terrible. I can’t believe they built it. It completely blocks the great view of the Baltimore skyline that you used to see. Still, Camden Yards is one of the most fan friendly stadiums out there!

I went to Maryland for school about a year ago and got a chance to visit Camden Yards during my visit; great park!

I’m a Californian native (and a true blue Dodger fan) but everyone of my buddies has heard me rave about the crowd, the stadium, the environment and local spots at Baltimore’s Camden Yards.

I like it so much I am responding to a blog about it!

So maybe the Orioles are doing terrible this year, but the ball park is still one of the best out there. I’d put it up there with Fenway as having some of the best charm and history. Nice pics, too!

    Thanks for the tour.
Definitely not a cookie cutter ballpark.
And I use the word ‘cookie’ because…”Hey, it’s Boog Powell!”

For a great ball park with urban appeal…the Bridgeport (CT) Bluefish. Sitting on the third base side you see a magnificent power plant. Giant smoke stake with blinking lights.
But best of all, out beyond Right Field the trains for the New Haven line pass back forth. And periodically an old fashioned train whistle lets loose. Just a little folksy atmosphere provided by the management.
    “FEAR THE FIN!”

  6. Nice pics…i love camden yards as well..i’d like to go to wrigley or PNC park first though…it’s too bad last night some people stole the number 8 that commemorated Ripken Jr….at least they caught the people who took it…
