Ideal Atomic Steel Watch – 1950’s

September 4, 2009

This watch is incredible! I love the atomic TV case. This watch was made by the Ideal Watch Co. in the 1950’s. The fonts are the best!

I have an Identical watch as this one. mine is a Gold Plated watch. has 10 microns of Gold fill stated between the bottom lugs. On the dial the name is ‘TILBURY’ followed by 17 jewels.. also says that it is Antimagnetic, has Incabloc and most unusually is says that it has a NEVERBREAK SPRING.. I have seen unbreakable spring written before, but never that!! My watch is running very sweetly and luckily the Gold plate is just about perfect.. so they are about.!! The movement is identicle but has written on it:- JOS.BOLLAT FILS but all the bridge work is the same.. different firms used the same movement… Have checked it out and it is a ‘STANDARD’ 1686… If there is any interest out there, leave me a message
