Rare 1937 Bugatti Atlante Found in British Garage

January 3, 2009

The nephews and nieces of Dr. Harold Carr were excited to find a rare 1937 Bugatti Atlante in the garage of their recently deceased uncle. The car is amazing because it is only one of 17 in the world and hasn’t been seen in over 50 years. This is one of my favorite cars! The lines and curves are amazing! I can’t wait to see this car restored.

It seems to be a great few years for rare Bugatti garage finds. In May 2007 a 1938 Bugatti Atlante was found in a garage in New York City. This car was auctioned at Christie’s Auction House last year. I love this car and the photos from the New York Times in which the car is in the garage as it was discovered. This Bugatti had also been garaged for over 50 years out of sight.

There are only 2 exsisting! The 3rd one is lost en that’s it. This is the epithomy of European car design, eat your heart out US and rest of the world! Any example given can be answered by 10 more beautiful ones, not mentioning the technical advantages.
A.g. a 1930’s Audi is faster than a 2009’s ‘Vette, let alone more appealing!
