The Gun Club Hat by Stetson – 1950’s
September 3, 2009
This awesome hat is called the Gun Club hat and was made by Stetson in the 1950’s. The lining is my favorite with the flying ducks. This hat is made from beaver felt.

The Beat Generation in Europe
June 7, 2009
Rebellious youth, loud jazz, sex, drugs, and cigarettes! Let’s jive Daddy-O! Opening credits from Edmond T Gréville’s 1960 British film “Beat Girl”. Gillian Hills is SMOKING in this clip!
Beat poet William Pryor had some amazing photos of him and his friends running around Europe in the 1960’s. They are definitely very cool.

I love the bidet

The Charles Eames Bow Tie
March 22, 2009
The fine folks over at Eames Collector.com have put together this amazing 1 minute video of the various knots of Mr. Charles Eames’ bow ties. The film ends with a rare view of the original design sketch of the Charles Eames bow tie as designed by Mrs. Ray Eames. All of Mr. Eames’ bow ties were hand made in New York City. We make a similar shaped bow tie at David Hart & Co. with pointed ends.

After the long wait, David Hart & Co. ties and bowties are finally available at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City! They are on the Designer Collections third floor and they look amazing! That’s my briefcase in the picture, I should have moved it.
