Buddy Lee was an advertising character developed in the 1920’s by Lee Jeans to promote their products. Check out early 1940’s railroad Buddy below, along with some rare promotional Buddys from the 1930’s and 1940’s. Railroad buddy is part of my Mother’s doll collection.

I love the old JC Penney sticker!

The fine folks at Anthony Swimming Pools came up with ingenious marketing initiative back in the 1960’s. The swimming pool ashtray was sure to be a hit with smokers everywhere!

The gentleman in this 1959 Viceroy Ad bears a strong resemblance to Mr. Rod Serling; coincidence?

I can’t even imagine all of the smoking, drinking, and womanizing that must have gone on in this office, but martini lunches with these gentlemen must have been a blast and a half!

The Carl Hammer Gallery has a great collection of vintage side show banners for sale.  I love the artwork on these!

Back when smoking was allowed (and encouraged) in the workplace, Steelcase Inc. released this promotional Zippo lighter to advertise it’s modern office furniture.  I love the original Zippo box and the artwork on the lighter is phenomenal!  I found this on Ebay.

These amazing Naugahyde stuffed toys were made in the 1960’s & 1970’s to promote the hottest new trend in upholstery.  These fun little monsters have a cult following and have become very collectible.
